Four Square Mile
Welcome to Four Square Mile, where our journey began in 2012 with a passion for literary arts. Our Maryland based company started out with a few books and a plethora of ideas. Over the past 13 years, we've transformed our vision into reality. We created and presented multiple poetry workshops to cross-generations in Maryland and abroad. Created artistic poetry and literary products like bookmarks, canvas art, drinkware, keychains, pillows, and stationery that are sold nationwide.
On the entertainment and education side, Four Square Mile recorded a suite of videos on YouTube providing valuable literary tips for poets and writers to elevate their craft and reach their intended audience. Performed uniquely unforgettable poetry readings and received invitations to appear on numerous panels to promote poetry.

Founder of Four Square Mile:

Nicole Lanier Montez was born in Mount Vernon, a city in Westchester County, New York with a 4.4 square mile span. Mount Vernon has a plethora of notable sites, people, and history. Montez named her literary arts company to pay homage to the great city of Mt. Vernon.
Montez's poetic career spans four decades, during which Montez has written several poetry books and recorded a spoken word CD. Poems have appeared in various publications like the Anointed Path Magazine, The Vine Magazine, and Watts Winery Company. Book inclusions with the Poet House, NYC, Mt. Vernon Public Library, Mt. Vernon, N.Y., The Prince George's County Memorial Library System, located in Maryland, and The Library of Congress.
In 2015, Montez realized a need to increase the pool of poetic voices and readers of the written word. She stepped into the role of poetry workshop facilitator, where she passionately promotes poetry to a bouquet of hues, host of genders, and cross-generations throughout the U.S.
